Well, first of all, I’d like to thank everyone in the office, especially Emily!! A little background story—I had a different attorney local to me in Chattanooga that I started my immigration case of adjustment of status through marriage. I would like to thank Ross Pines of Ross & Pines and Mark Begnaud of Eshman/Begnaud for their professionalism, knowledge, and compassion in helping me through the maze of civil rights litigation for police misconduct. I was wrongly arrested while recording a traffic stop in September of 2023 and held in jail for 6 days for no apparent reason. After finally getting out, I asked the business where the incident happened if they could retrieve the camera footage from that day. I found out their system had a 5-day loop, I was held for 6 days, and the police purposely stepped on my phone at the time of my arrest. They didn't know I had my phone repaired and retrieved the video from the incident. Also, the arresting officer claimed his body cam batteries were dead. For a year and a half, I contacted many law firms to get help in pursuing a suit against this police department and the officer. They all responded back they couldn't take my case because I didn't have any major injuries. In April of this year, after continuing to reach out to law firms, I got a call from Ross Pines inquiring about my case. I sent him the video and a copy of the police report, which was a complete fabrication of the incident, and he called back to say he saw some merit in this and turned it over to Mark Begnaud. Mark took the ball and ran with it and negotiated a 6-figure settlement in about 1 month. I am so grateful to these 2 law firms for understanding that there's more to being lawyers than just ambulance chasing. They understand that protecting the civil rights of Americans is one of the most important issues because if we don't stand up for our rights, we are destined to lose them.
